Sky Sports to air walking football film

A half-hour programme dedicated to showcasing the sport of walking football will be broadcast on Sky Sports channels a total of 11 times in early October.

The Walking Football Association (WFA) commissioned renowned production company, SGTV, to produce the film, entitled “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.

Paul Carr, chief executive of the WFA, said:

“I asked Sky if they would be interested in showcasing walking football, who agreed on the priviso that we (the WFA) funded a professionally produced video.

“This will hopefully be seen around the world over the next 12 months and help to promote the sport in an entertaining way. It will also dispel any misconceptions about the sport that arose from the Barclays TV advert.”

The programme will be shown multiple times on the evenings of 3rd and 4th October across two channels.
