Weekly sessions at William Gregg VC Leisure Centre.
Take a trip down to William Gregg VC Leisure Centre from 11.30am every Wednesday morning for an hour-long walking football session with the Heanor Strollers.
As one of Derbyshire’s leading walking football clubs, the Strollers’ sessions are always well organised and welcoming.
The weekly kick-about takes place inside the leisure centre’s sports hall and is aimed at men aged 50 and over of mixed abilities.
Games usually follow a six-a-side format and contact is permitted. New players are invited to simply turn up and join in, with no need to get in touch ahead of time. Heanor Strollers walking football sessions cost just £2.50 per player, per week.
In addition to the informal Wednesday morning events, the Strollers also enter teams into various walking football festivals and tournaments, as well as three local leagues.
The club is a founding member of the Derbyshire Walking Football League, of which they were crowned champions in 2016. We highly recommend following the Heanor Strollers on Twitter for regular fixture news, results and photos.
